Director of Accounting

Interflight Parking Company is currently recruiting for an Director of Accounting. This position is located at General Mitchell International Airport. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of all accounting and financial reporting functions. You will work directly with Interflight’s senior leadership team, our customer’s senior executive team, oversee the development of a $35.0M annual budget, and manage an accounting team that includes two additional roles.


Position Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all accounting and financial reporting functions and staff

  • Coordinate and oversee the management of general accounting functions and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP

  • Direct the preparation and distribution of timely and accurate financial statements, operating, management and ad hoc reports required within and outside the organization

  • Lead financial meetings and presentations with customer’s executive teams

  • Manage accounting for cash disbursements and intercompany transfers

  • Prepare and update organizational-wide cash flow projections

  • Manage bank reconciliations and related adjusting entries timely and accurately

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts timely and accurately

  • Coordinate all intercompany reconciliations to insure proper classifications, balances and fund transfers

  • Assist in preparing the annual budgets for Interflight and specific airport operations

  • Oversight of integration between accounts payable system and general ledger software

  • Oversight of internal control procedures for the revenue, expenditure and financial statement preparation workflows

  • Work in conjunction with the operators, management and investors to ensure timely and accurate financial statements

  • Monitor and evaluate new GAAP pronouncements that may impact the company

  • Review bi-weekly payroll processing and reconciliation

  • Challenge the status quo – recommend improvements to processes and controls where needed

 

Preferred candidates will have parking, airport facility, hospitality, or logistics management experience (5+ years) and proven leadership experience. In addition, qualified applicants should possess the following capabilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA and/or MBA preferred)

  • Five to seven years of related experience in property management, retail or a related service industry

  • Experience with GAAP accounting and budgeting

  • Experience with integrated accounting software

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel

  • Demonstrated project management experience

  • Five or more years of financial/accounting supervisory experience with the ability to coach, motivate and engage employees in a finance function

  • Excellent analytical and communications skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to all levels within Interflight and to investors, as needed

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced,

busy environment

  • Ability to use sound judgment to effectively solve problems within the scope of the position
